Parent FAQ

How do I register a player?

1. Returning players: If you already have a User Account (even if you have not yet added a child as a Participant or yourself as a Volunteer) click on Login.  

New players: If you are a new participant/parent please click on Register Now. Fill out the Create New Account section on the Login screen.  Then click on Create Account.


2. Select the Fall/Spring Core Program.  Click on the +Register button next to the appropriate Division (e.g. 14UG, Playground, 6UB); it should change to 'Selected'.

3. Fill out all Program Information needed.  Fields with a red star are required information.
Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen and check both of the "I accept the waiver" boxes.

Click on Continue.

4. E-signature for ...
Check the appropriate box and circle as the parent of the player, ("I represent and warrant that I am the parent or legal guardian of the Player named on this application...) then type in your name as an electronic signature.
Ignore the "I am an adult...." check box, circle and signature box unless you are a player 18 years or older.
Scroll to the bottom of the Application page; click on the Review button.
Carefully review all information on the Application for accuracy, then scroll to the bottom of the page again and click the Accept button.

How do I Volunteer?

 1. Log in to Sports Connect (formerly Blue Sombrero), click on the My Account button (upper right part of your screen)

2.  Click on the Volunteer icon on the left side

3.  Click on the Find Volunteer Roles button near the upper right

4.  Select the Program you wish to volunteer for (2017 shown as example year), then click View Roles.
For volunteers who do not have a child playing in Region 815 also select the current year/season.  (2017 shown as example year)

5.  For a team-specific role (Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager, etc.) scroll down to find the specific Division your child's team will be in (e.g. 8UG) and click the Signup button next to the volunteer role you want to apply for.
You do not need to volunteer for the same Role multiple times. Only register in each division YOU WISH TO VOLUNTEER FOR.

***Important***  An adult (18 and older) volunteering to referee should choose the role of "Referee".  A youth (under age 18) should choose the role of "Youth Referee".

then scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen and click on the Continue button:

6.  Select the person who is to fill the Volunteer Role.  If the person is not yet a User in your Sports Connect account, select "Invite New Account User".
Each New Account User (including youth volunteers) must have an email address different from the Primary Account User.
Each New Account User (including youth volunteers) will receive an email invitation from the Primary Account User.
The New Account User must go to his or her email account, accept the invitation, and create a new username and password for their Sports Connect access.
A volunteer under age 18 (i.e. a Youth Referee) needs to be invited as a New Account User in order for him or her to be registered as a Volunteer.
Then click Continue:

7.  Complete all the information in the Additional Position Information screen (fields with a red star are required information)

then scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen; Accept the Waiver (it should read "Yes"!); and click Continue:

8.  You will be asked to eSign the AYSO Volunteer Application Form:  click the box next to "I agree ..."
For an adult Volunteer (18 and older) click the circle next to "I am an adult ..."; then type your full legal name in the yellow Volunteer Signaturebox.
For a youth Volunteer (under age 18) click the circle next to  "I represent and warrant that I am the parent  ..." and eSign with the Parent/Guardian's full legal name.
Do not check both boxes!  Check the 2nd box only if you are the parent of a youth volunteer!
Scroll to the bottom, and click the Continue to Review button.  You will be asked to review the Form you just eSigned, then scroll to the bottom again and Submit signed volunteer application.

9.  You are not done yet!  Click the green Continue button, then in the next screen click on the green Click Here for Volunteer Verification Form button on the next screen.  Check off all three boxes, fill in your First Name and Last Name exactly how they appear on your AYSO Volunteer Application, enter your valid Social Security Number and click on Continue
You should end up at your Volunteer screen again, which will show your name, your Role, and either "Pending" (if you are a new Volunteer) or "Eligible" (if you are approved as a returning Volunteer).
Now you are done!

10.  You should now be done with the Volunteer Registration process.  If your First Name, Last Name and Birth Date matched your previous record, you should see your Volunteer Role as Accepted, with your existing AYSO ID #.  If you are a new Volunteer, or if your information did not match exactly, you will have a new AYSO ID # and there may be a delay before your application is Accepted


What is the AYSO membership fee?

The AYSO Membership Fee (formerly known as the National Player Fee) is a non-refundable and non-transferable member fee to participate in AYSO. Membership in AYSO is required for each Membership Year (8/1 - 7/31) before a member may participate in any AYSO program or event. This fee entitles the member to all benefits for that membership year, including:

  •  Membership Player ID Card
  • Annual subscription to the PLAYSOCCER Magazine
  • Newsletters
  • Soccer Accident Insurance
  • Special offers and discounts
  • Access to the AYSO Player website channel

 The AYSO Membership Fee will be added to the shopping cart when a parent registers their child to play in a program. The AYSO Membership fee will only be charged once per Membership Year regardless of the number of programs or Regions the player participates in.

How do I eSign after registration?

After registration is completed, you may eSign the Player Form again at any point in time by following the steps below:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Select the edit pencil next to the player’s name
  3. At the bottom of the page, select “Update”
  4. Go into the eSignature form
  5. eSign, Review, and Submit
  6. Continue through to get back to the My Account page


How do I edit player information?

Player information can be edited by selecting the edit pencil next to the player’s name on the My Account page. Please be sure to select “Update” at the bottom of the page to save your changes. It is recommended to eSign the Player Form after making any changes on this page.

How do I add an additional account holder?

Additional account holders can be added through an invite from the Primary Account Holder. To initiate this process, please go to the Edit Account Info page from your My Account page.

At the bottom of the page, select the “Add Additional Account Holder” button. The page will refresh, and the required information for the additional user must be filled in prior to sending out the account invite.

After the invite is sent, the recipient will receive an email with a link containing instructions to create their account in the site*. Once the account is created, they will be listed as an additional user within the Primary Account Holder’s account. 

*Please note that the account must be created from the link provided in the email. Any other method used in this process will create a separate Primary Account, and the process will need to be re-done.*
